Overview

Traditional Hamptons architecture, designed for the way the house is lived.

Set at the end of a long drive on 2.8 acres in Amagansett North, 62 Canvasback combines privacy and substantial interior scale with an unusually extensive outdoor program.

The residence was designed as a true year-round home: generous spaces for gathering, quieter rooms for work and longer stays, and multiple outdoor settings that become extensions of the house in warmer months.

The Residence

SITE & DESIGN

A closer look at 62 Canvasback

The natural topography of the site shaped the house from the outset. As the land falls away, the lower level opens directly to grade, while the terraces, lawn and pool step down with the landscaping, allowing the architecture and outdoor spaces to follow the contours of the property.

Location & Site

A private setting in Amagansett.

Set at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in the Hawks Nest section of Amagansett North, the property offers both privacy and proximity to Amagansett Square and the ocean beaches.

A long private drive through the rolling woodlands creates a gradual sense of arrival.

Architecture & Exterior

Traditional materials, modern proportions.

The house draws on the familiar materials of traditional Hamptons architecture: cedar shingles, crisp white window trim and deep eaves. Lower roof lines and large glazed areas give the exterior a more contemporary character, creating the transitional quality that carries through the rest of the home.

Inside, detailed baseboards and door casings, crown moldings and coffered ceilings bring that traditional craftsmanship into the interiors. They are paired with an open floor plan, generous windows and abundant natural light, giving the rooms a more contemporary sense of space without losing the warmth and detail of a classic cedar-shingle house.

Indoor-Outdoor Living

Designed around the connection between inside and out.

Nine-foot French doors line the living room, while a full-width bifold opening connects the kitchen directly to the pool deck. Across three interconnected levels, the residence offers approximately 5,000 square feet of exterior decks, balconies, and terraces designed for everyday living and entertaining.
